SEEDLING: anthocyanin colouration of hypocotyl present
PLANT: tall, no shortened internodes in upper part, long internodes on primary side shoots
STEM: medium length, medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration of nodes, weak hairiness of nodes
LEAF BLADE: medium to long, medium to broad, medium to dark green, ovate shape, medium undulation of margin, medium blistering, moderately convex profile in cross-section, medium glossiness
FLOWERING: begins very early to early
PEDUNCLE: erect attitude
FLOWER: anthocyanin colouration of anther present
STALK: short, thin
CALYX: non enveloping aspect

Origin & Breeding History: Red Rotella' (breeder's reference 35-MR1481 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in March of 2019 in De Lier, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid sweet pepper variety Red Rotella' was selected in August of 2019 in De Lier, Netherlands for its disease resistance, plant strength, yield and stability of fruit size.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of Red Rotella' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS2274, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2023.
