Summary: The plants of 'Sunbui Mirehaha' are taller than those of 'USTUNI6001'. The leaves of 'Sunbui Mirehaha' are larger than those of 'USTUNI6001'. The sepals of 'Sunbui Mirehaha' are larger than those of 'USTUNI6001'. The flowers of 'Sunbui Mirehaha' are wider than those of 'USTUNI6001'. The corolla of fully opened flowers of 'Sunbui Mirehaha' is purple while that of 'USTUNI6001' is blue pink. The inner side of the corolla tube of 'Sunbui Mirehaha' is blue pink while that of 'USTUNI6001' is white.

LEAF BLADE: ovate shape, narrow acute apex, no variegation, medium green on upper side, medium blistering
PEDICEL: absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
FLOWER: single type, campanulate shape
COROLLA: degree of lobing ranging from medium to strong, absent or very shallow incisions of margin, medium degree of undulation, weak conspicuousness of veins, pink veins, when newly open inner side is purple (closest to RHS N74A), when fully open inner side is purple (closest to RHS N74A-B), when aged inner side is blue pink (closest to RHS 71D)
COROLLA LOBE: cuspidate and rounded apex
COROLLA TUBE (INNER SIDE): blue pink (RHS N74C), medium conspicuousness of brown purple (RHS N186C) veins
ANTHER: light blue before dehiscence
Origin & Breeding History: 'Sunbui Mirehaha' originated from a controlled pollination between the female parent, proprietary variety 'LNW', and the male parent, propriety variety 'PR-46'. The cross was conducted in March 2011 at the Omi Research and Development Center of Suntory Flowers Ltd. in Higashiomi-shi, Shiga, Japan. 'Sunbui Mirehaha' was selected in June 2011 based on its growth habit, flower size and flower colour.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'Sunbui Mirehaha' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2016 at BioFlora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 17, 2016. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of plants of each variety on May 16 and 17, 2016. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
