A single seedling was selected from the resultant progeny in September 2014 based on plant growth habit, vigour, branching characteristics; and flower colour, pattern, size and abundance. Asexual reproduction by vegetative cuttings of 'DAMORQUEEN' was first conducted in October 2014, in Moshav Mishmar Hashiva, Israel.

The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt, in Hannover, Germany, in 2017. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
