Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEPH20513' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder, Antonella Capo, in Latina, Italy in July 2017. The cross was made between the female parent 'PH-2015-1835' and the male parent 'PH-2017-2905'. Seedlings from the resulting progeny were selected in April 2018 based on their plant performance, flower colour and colour pattern stability. Greenhouse trials were evaluated from 2018 to 2020 and the new Petunia variety was commercialized as 'KLEPH20513' in April 2020.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'KLEPH20513' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2022 at Bioflora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 3, 2022. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on June 2, 2022. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
