PLANT: upright to spreading growth habit, short to medium height
SHOOT: medium length

LEAF: medium to long, medium to broad, ovate, obtuse apex, no variegation, medium green

PEDICEL: very short, strong anthocyanin colouration
CALYX: medium length, medium width
FLOWER: single type, medium to broad
COROLLA: strong degree of lobing, strong degree of undulation
COROLLA LOBE (INNER SIDE): very weak to weak conspicuousness of veins; mainly medium purple (RHS NN78A) when fully opened, small irregularly distributed area of white (RHS NN155D) secondary colour, medium number of flowers with different sized area of secondary colour, light violet (lighter than RHS 77D) tertiary colour; mainly dark purple (more red than RHS N79C) when newly opened, medium purple (RHS NN78A) when aged, rounded apex
COROLLA TUBE: broad, black (RHS N186B) on inner side, strong conspicuousness of veins on inner side, black (RHS N186B) on outer side
ANTHER: light blue pollen

Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEPH20580' originated from a controlled cross between the female parent variety 'Crazytunia Moonstruck' and the male parent, a proprietary seedling designated 'PH-2017-2906', conducted in Latina, Italy in July 2017. The resultant seedlings were selected in April 2018, based on flower colour, colour pattern, colour stability and overall plant performance. The new variety 'KLEPH20580' was finally selected in April 2020 for commercialization.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEPH20580' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination application number 2021/1690, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2022. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
