Summary: The flowers of 'DPETPW1782' are narrower than those of 'Red Carpet RIMarkable'. The flowers of ‘DPETPW1782' have a medium degree of lobing whereas the flowers of 'Red Carpet RIMarkable' have a strong degree of lobing. The flowers of ‘DPETPW1782' have a medium sized area of secondary colour whereas the flowers of 'Red Carpet RIMarkable' have a large area of secondary colour. The number of flowers with a different size of area of secondary colour on the inner side for 'DPETPW1782' is absent or few whereas ‘Red Carpet RIMarkable' has many. The inner side of the corolla tube of ‘DPETPW1782' is dark blue violet at the opening and moves into medium blue violet then white towards the base whereas that of ‘Red Carpet RIMarkable' is medium violet. The outer side of the corolla tube of ‘DPETPW1782' is light blue violet whereas that of ‘Red Carpet RIMarkable' is medium blue violet.

COROLLA: medium degree of lobing, weak degree of undulation
COROLLA (INNER SIDE): conspicuousness of veins ranging from weak to medium, red to purple veins, medium violet (closest to RHS N78B) when newly opened, medium violet (closest to RHS N78A) when fully opened, medium violet to medium blue violet (closest to RHS N78B and N82B)when aged, medium area of white (closest to RHS NN155D) secondary colour at margins of corolla, absent or few flowers with different size of area of secondary colour
COROLLA LOBE: cuspidate apex
COROLLA TUBE (INNER SIDE): dark blue violet (RHS 86B) at opening, medium blue violet (RHS N88C) at middle, white (RHS 155A) at base, strong conspicuousness of veins
COROLLA TUBE (OUTER SIDE): light blue violet (RHS 85D)
ANTHER: light blue to blueish violet polle

Origin & Breeding History: 'DPETPW1782' originated from an open pollinated cross between an unknown female parent and unknown male parent conducted at Mishmar HaShiva, Israel in November of 2016. 'DPETPW1782' was selected in April of 2017 based on flower size, flower colour, and number of flowers. Asexual reproduction by vegetative cuttings was initiated in May of 2017.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'DPETPW1782' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2024 in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15.2 cm pots on April 9, 2024. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants on May 30, 2024. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
