Summary: The plants of ‘INPETBEACH' are shorter than those of ‘USTUNI6001'. The leaves of ‘INPETBEACH' are shorter and wider than those of ‘USTUNI6001'. The leaves of ‘INPETBEACH' have an obtuse apex whereas those of ‘USTUNI6001' have an acute apex. The pedicel of ‘INPETBEACH' is shorter than that of ‘USTUNI6001'. The flowers of ‘INPETBEACH' are wider than those of ‘USTUNI6001'. The inner side of the corolla of ‘INPETBEACH' is medium blue pink whereas that of ‘USTUNI6001' is dark blue pink. The inner side of the corolla tube of ‘INPETBEACH' is white at the opening to light green at the base whereas that of ‘USTUNI6001' is medium blue pink at the opening to light blue pink at the base. The outer side of the corolla tube of ‘INPETBEACH' is light green to white whereas that of ‘USTUNI6001' is medium blue pink.

COROLLA: weak degree of lobing, absent to weak degree of undulation
COROLLA (INNER SIDE): weak conspicuousness of veins, greenish veins, medium purple red (closest to RHS N57B) when newly opened, medium blue pink (closest to RHS 61D) when fully opened and aged, no secondary colour
COROLLA LOBE: rounded to truncate apex
COROLLA TUBE (INNER SIDE): white (closest to RHS NN155B) at opening to light green (RHS 157A) towards base, medium conspicuousness of veins
COROLLA TUBE (OUTER SIDE): light green to white (RHS 157C-D)
ANTHER: whitish pollen
Origin & Breeding History: ‘INPETBEACH' originated from a controlled cross between the proprietary seedling designated ‘pt18-4122-5' and the variety ‘Kerversalm' conducted at Heidesheim, Germany in June of 2019. ‘INPETBEACH' was selected in May of 2022 based on plant vigour, branching characteristics, flower colour, flower size, flowering time and flowering frenquency. Asexual reproduction by vegetative cuttings was initiated in May of 2022.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘INPETBEACH' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2024 in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15.2 cm pots on April 9, 2024. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants on May 30, 2024. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
