Summary: The plants of ‘WGPETSMVPV25' are taller than those of both reference varieties. The leaves and pedicels of ‘WGPETSMVPV25' are longer than those of both reference varieties. The flower of ‘WGPETSMVPV25' is narrower than that of both reference varieties. The inner side of the corolla lobe of ‘WGPETSMVPV25' has a medium conspicousness of veins whereas that of ‘KLEPH16274' has a strong conspicuousness of veins and that of ‘Lanbor' has a strong to very strong conspicuousness of veins. When fully opened, the inner side of the corolla lobe of ‘WGPETSMVPV25' is dark blue pink with medium purple tones whereas that of ‘KLEPH16274' is light violet with medium purple at the margin and ‘Lanbor' is light violet with medium violet at the margin. The outer side of the corolla tube of ‘WGPETSMVPV25' is dark violet whereas that of ‘KLEPH16274' is light green.

Origin & Breeding History: ‘WGPETSMVPV25' originated from a controlled cross between the female parent variety ‘Supertunia Mini Vista Violet Star' and the male parent variety ‘Supertunia Mini Vista Indigo' conducted in Ticoplant, Alajuela, Costa Rica on June 16, 2020. The new variety ‘WGPETSMVPV25' was selected on September 21, 2021, in Mustang Ridge, Texas, USA based on plant vigour, branching density, flower time, flowering frequency, flower colour, container performance and garden performance. Asexual reproduction by terminal cuttings was initiated in Mustang Ridge, Texas, USA on October 10, 2021.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘WGPETSMVPV25' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2025 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm containers on April 7, 2025. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or part of plants, of each variety on May 13, 2025. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's T-tests. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
