Description:

PLANT: upright to spreading growth habit, medium to tall, medium length shoot

LEAF BLADE: short to medium length, narrow, ovate shape, obtuse apex, no variegation, medium green on upper side

PEDICEL: short, strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration
CALYX LOBE: short, very narrow
FLOWER: single type, narrow to medium width, weak lobing, absent or very few flowers with different size of area of secondary colour
COROLLA LOBE: medium degree of undulation, absent or very weak conspicuousness of veins, cuspidate apex
COROLLA LOBE (INNER SIDE): dark purple (RHS 71A) when newly opened, medium purple (darker than RHS N74A) with small area of medium violet (RHS 77B) at transition to corolla tube when fully opened, medium purple (RHS NN78A) when aged
COROLLA TUBE: medium width, medium brown (RHS 177D) on inner side, weak conspicuousness of veins on inner side, medium blue violet (RHS 85A) on outer side
ANTHER: blueish violet pollen

Origin & Breeding History: ‘SAKPXC035' originated from a hybridization conducted in February 2018 in Kakegawa, Japan between proprietary female parental line ‘SAV' and the male parental line '7FS-6A-1BC-1'. The variety ‘SAKPXC035' was selected as a single plant in Misato, Japan between April and August of 2019 based on plant habit and flower colour. Asexual propagation by shoot-tip cuttings was subsequently conducted in Salinas, California, USA.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of ‘SAKPXC035' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 20242592, purchased from Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2025. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
