Variety used for comparison: 'Moerheimii'
Summary: The plants of 'PHOZ0001' are taller than those of 'Moerheimii'. The corolla of 'PHOZ0001' is larger in diameter than that of 'Moerheimii'. The inner side of the corolla lobe of 'PHOZ0001' is light violet with a darker violet eye while the inner side of the corolla lobe of 'Moerheimii' is darker violet with a purple eye.
Description:
STEM: light green with medium red flush, strong pubescence
LEAF: lanceolate shape, slightly convex in cross-section, pubescence present at margin, acute apex, upper side is brown green (RHS 146A), lower side is brown green (RHS 146B)
PEDICEL: medium red, strong pubescence
CALYX: medium green with a dark red flush, strong pubescence
COROLLA LOBE: obcordate shape, emarginate apex, inner side is light violet (RHS N75C), outer side is light blue violet (RHS 76B)
COROLLA EYE: violet (RHS 77A)
COROLLA TUBE: dark violet (RHS N77C), no pubescence
ANTHER: orange

Origin & Breeding History: 'PHOZ0001' originated from a controlled hybrid cross conducted by the breeder, Har Stemkens, in Enkhuizen, the Netherlands in March 2012. The cross was made between a proprietary seedling designated 'J7807-1', as the female parent, and the proprietary seedling designated 'J7803-1', as the male parent. The resultant seed was sown in June 2012. A single seedling was selected in April 2013, in Enkhuizen, based on plant vigour, flower size, flower number and time of flowering.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'PHOZ0001' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 2016/1160, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trials were conducted by the Naktuinbouw from 2016 to 2017. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
