Summary: 'Fiscor Electric' differs from the reference varieties, 'Fiscor Fire' and 'Fiscor' in bract colour, leaf length and intensity of anthocyanin colouration on the upper and lower sides of the leaf petioles. The bracts of 'Fiscor Electric' are more orange-red than the bracts of both reference varieties. The leaves of 'Fiscor Electric' are shorter than those of both reference varieties. The intensity of anthocyanin colouration of the upper side of the petioles of 'Fiscor Electric' is medium to strong whereas it is strong in both 'Fiscor Fire' and 'Fiscor'. Origin & Breeding History: 'Fiscor Electric' arose as a naturally occurring mutation of the variety, 'Fiscor', discovered in Gönnebek, Germany, in November 2001. The plant was taken to Hillscheid, Germany to enhance vegetative growth for propagation by shoot tip cuttings.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'Fiscor Electric' were conducted at Westcan Greenhouses Ltd., Langley, British Columbia in November/December of 2003. The trial consisted of a minimum of 10 plants of each variety grown in a greenhouse. The 15cm pots were spaced approximately 38cm (from center) apart. Measured characteristics were based on ten measurements.
