Summary: The upper third of the stem of 'EURZ0009' has a strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration whereas that of 'SYEP22866' has a medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The leaf blade of 'EURZ0009' is of medium width whereas the leaf blade of 'SYEP22866' is narrow. The lower side of the petiole of 'EURZ0009' has a medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration whereas the lower side of the petiole of 'SYEP22866' has a strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The upper side of the bracts of 'EURZ0009' are red whereas the upper side of the bracts of 'SYEP22866' are dark purple red to red. The lower side of the bracts of 'EURZ0009' are red to dark purple red whereas the lower side of the bracts of 'SYEP22866' are red to dark pink red.

LEAF BLADE: medium length, medium width, ovate shape, rounded base, one colour on upper side, strong to very strong intensity of green colour on upper side, only red main vein on upper side, absent or weak curvature of main vein, absent or few lobes, absent or very shallow depth of deepest sinus between lobes

Origin & Breeding History: 'EURZ0009' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder, Ronald Snijder, in Enkhuizen, Netherlands in August 2012. The cross was made between the female parent variety 'SYEP22866' and the male parent variety 'NPCW10158'. The resultant seed was sown in July of 2013. A single unique seedling was selected in September of 2013 based on growth habit, branching characteristics, bract colour and inflorescence size.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'EURZ0009' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2017/2746, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted at the University of Aarhus in Aarslev, Denmark in 2018. The colour determinations were made using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
