Summary: The plants of 'LAZZPO1531' have medium to many branches whereas those of 'Christmas Joy Red' have many to very many branches. The middle third of the stem of 'LAZZPO1531' has weak intensity of green colour whereas that of 'Christmas Joy Red' has a medium intensity of green colour. The upper third of the stem of 'LAZZPO1531' has a strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration whereas that of 'Christmas Joy Red' has absent or weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The leaf blade of 'LAZZPO1531' is medium to long whereas that of 'Christmas Joy Red' is long to very long. The petiole of 'LAZZPO1531' is of medium length whereas that of 'Christmas Joy Red' is long to very long. The transition leaves of 'LAZZPO1531' have medium to many partly bract-coloured leaf blades whereas those of 'Christmas Joy Red' have very few to few partly bract-coloured leaf blades. The plants of 'LAZZPO1531' have few bracts whereas those of 'Christmas Joy Red' have a medium number of bracts. The largest bract of 'LAZZPO1531' is very long and broad to very broad whereas that of 'Christmas Joy Red' is medium to long and medium to broad. The lower side of the bracts of 'LAZZPO1531' are dark red whereas those of 'Christmas Joy Red' are red pink.

Origin & Breeding History: 'LAZZPO1531' originated from a controlled hybrid cross between the female parent, a proprietary selection designated '2007-606-005', and pollen from the male parent variety 'Allegra Red', conducted in Merano, Italy between March to June of 2012. The new variety 'LAZZPO1531' was selected in December 2013, in Sabaudia, Italy based on bract colour, plant shape and stem strength. Asexual reproduction by cuttings was initiated in Sabaudia, Italy in July of 2014.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'LAZZPO1531' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2021/2516, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted at the Centralny Orodek Badania Odmian Rolin Uprawnych (COBORU) Research Center for Cultivar Testing in Srem, Poland from 2022 to 2023. The colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
