Summary: The plants of 'Noblesse' are shorter than the plants of 'Yukon Gold'. The lightsprout of 'Noblesse' has a small tip in relation to base whereas the lightsprout of 'Yukon Gold' has a medium sized tip in relation to base. 'Noblesse has a lightsprout tip with a medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration whereas 'Yukon Gold' has a lightsprout tip with a weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The leaf of 'Noblesse' has a leaf with a strong presence of secondary leaflets whereas the leaf of 'Yukon Gold' has leaf with a weak presence of secondary leaflets. The flower bud of 'Noblesse' has a high extent of anthocyanin whereas the flower bud of 'Yukon Gold' has a low extent of anthocyanin colouration.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Noblesse' originated from a cross between the selection 'RZD 95-1618', as the female parent, and the variety 'Victoria', as the male parent, conducted in 2002, at HZPC Holland B.V. in Metslawier, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, 'Noblesse' was selected in 2003 based on yield, internal and external tuber quality as well as disease and insect resistances.

Tests & Trials: The comparative test and trial for 'Noblesse' was conducted during the growing season of 2017 in Drummond, New Brunswick. The trial consisted of a single, 21.2 metre long row containing 70 plants spaced 0.3 metres apart for each variety. The distance between rows within the trial was 0.9 metres. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety. The mean difference was significant at the 5% probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
