Varieties used for comparison: 'Mozart' and 'Cerata KWS'
Summary: The lightsprout of 'Rosi' is medium sized whereas those of 'Mozart' and 'Cerata KWS' are small. The base of the lightsprout of 'Rosi' has a strong to very strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration whereas that of 'Cerata KWS' has a medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The base of the lightsprout of 'Rosi' has sparse pubescence whereas that of 'Mozart' has a medium density of pubescence and that of 'Cerata KWS' has dense pubescence. The plants of 'Rosi' are taller than the plants of 'Mozart' and shorter than the plants of 'Cerata KWS'. The tuber for 'Rosi' is short oval to oval in shape whereas it is round for 'Cerata KWS'. The tuber for 'Rosi' has cream coloured flesh whereas the tuber for 'Mozart' has medium yellow flesh and that of 'Cerata KWS' has white flesh.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Rosi' originated from a cross between 'Symfonia', as the female parent, and 'Mozart', as the male parent, conducted in 2001 at the HZPC Research B.V. in Metslawier, Netherlands. 'Rosi' was selected from the resulting F1 in 2002, based on yield, internal and external tuber quality, and disease resistance.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'Rosi' was conducted by Global Agri Services Inc. during the 2019 growing season in Drummond, New Brunswick. The trial consisted of a single, 21 metre long row per variety. Each row contained 70 plants spaced 0.3 metres apart with inter row spacing of 0.9 metres. Measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety. The mean differences were significant at the 5% probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
