Origin & Breeding History: 'FL2512' originated from a cross between 'FL2221', as the female parent, and 'FL2215', as the male parent, conducted in 2011 at the Frito-Lay Ag Research and Development facility in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, USA. Seeds from the cross were sown in a greenhouse in the spring of 2011. The resulting tubers were harvested and planted in the field in 2012. 'FL2512' was selected in 2012 based on agronomic characteristics, disease resistance, and fry colour from storage.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'FL2512' was conducted by Global Agri Services Inc. during the 2019 growing season in Drummond, New Brunswick. The trial consisted of a single, 21 metre long row per variety. Each row contained 70 plants spaced 0.3 metres apart with an inter-row spacing of 0.9 metres.
