Origin & Breeding History: 'WGPORMM25' originated from a controlled cross conducted in June 2017 in Ticoplant, Alajuela, Costa Rica between the female parent variety 'Campino Pitaya' and the male parent variety ‘SunDome Pink'. A single flowering plant was selected from the resulting progeny in October 2020, based on plant growth habit, plant vigour, flower colour, duration of flower opening during daylight hours and container and landscape performance. Asexual reproduction of 'WGPORMM25' was first conducted by terminal cuttings in October 2020 in Mustang Ridge, Texas, U.S.A.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'WGPORMM25' was conducted in a polyhouse at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario during the summer of 2025. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 7, 2025. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety on June 24, 2025. The mean differences were significant at the 5% probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart.
