Summary: The intensity of anthocyanin colouration on the current season's cane is weak to medium on 'DrisRaspOne' whereas it is strong on the reference varieties. The plants of 'DrisRaspOne' produce shorter previous season's canes than 'Maravilla' and shorter current season's canes than 'Heritage'. On the current season's cane, the density of spines on 'DrispRaspOne' is sparse to medium whereas it is very sparse on'Marvilla'. On the current season's cane, the spine of 'DrisRaspOne' is longer with a larger base than the spine of 'Maravilla' and shorter with a smaller base than the spine of 'Heritage'. In cross-section, the profile of the leaflet is concave for 'DrisRaspOne' whereas it is convex for the reference varieties. The terminal leaflet of 'DrisRaspOne' is shorter and broader than that of 'Heritage'. The fruiting lateral of 'DrisRaspOne' on the previous year's cane is shorter than that of both reference varieties. On the current season's cane, flowering begins very late for 'DrisRaspOne' whereas flowering begins late for 'Maravilla' and mid-season for 'Heritage'. On the current season's cane, fruit ripening begins late to very late for 'DrisRaspOne' whereas ripening begins mid to late season for 'Maravilla' and early to mid-season for 'Heritage'.

Origin & Breeding History: 'DrisRaspOne' arose from a controlled cross between 'T186.1' (female parent) and 'Maravilla' (male parent). Breeding was conducted in Santa Cruz, California in 2002. 'DrisRaspOne' was selected from the seedling population in September 2002. 'DrisRaspOne' was asexually propagated in Santa Cruz, California and underwent propagation and continued testing there. Selection criteria included yield, vigour, fruit size, taste, and colour.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trials for 'DrisRaspOne' were conducted in Chilliwack, British Columbia during the 2014 growing season. The plots were planted in the spring of 2013 in a randomized complete block design (RCBD). Each variety consisted of 3 replicates with 5 plants per replicate for a total of 15 plants of each variety. Plants were spaced approximately 61 centimetres apart within rows and 3 metres between rows.
