Summary: During rapid growth, the intensity of anthocyanin colouration of the apex of the very young shoot is very strong for 'Advabereen' whereas the intensity is very weak to weak for 'Brilliance'. The intensity of anthocyanin colouration of the current season's cane is medium to strong for 'Advabereen' whereas the intensity is strong to very strong for 'Brilliance'. The previous season's cane of 'Advabereen' is brownish grey whereas the previous season's cane of 'Brilliance' is brownish purple. The spines of 'Advabereen' are purplish brown with a small base whereas the spines of 'Brilliance' are brownish green with a medium sized base. The leaf of 'Advabereen' has medium to strong rugosity whereas the leaf of Brilliance' has a weak to medium degree of rugosity. The fruit of 'Advabereen' is firm to very firm whereas the fruit of 'Brilliance' is of medium firmness.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Advabereen' was bred and developed by the breeders Andreas Smaal, of Advanced Berry Breeding, Netherlands, and Gerrit de Weert, of De Weert Beheer B.V., Netherlands. 'Advabereen' was selected in Rossum, Gelderland, Netherands, for its fruit characteristics including quality, productivity, and uniformity.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Advabereen' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2011/0113, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt, in Prüfstelle Wurzen, Germany, from 2013 to 2014.
