Description:
PLANT: semi-upright growth habit, many to very many current season shoots, only bears fruit on current season's cane in autumn
VERY YOUNG SHOOT: medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration of apex during rapid growth
CURRENT SEASON`S CANE: medium to long, medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration, short to medium internode length, short vegetative bud
SPINES: medium to dense, medium to large base, short to medium length, purplish brown
LEAF: medium green upper side, predominantly five leaflets, medium to strong rugosity, relative position of lateral leaflets is touching

Origin & Breeding History: 'Autumn Glory' originated from a controlled cross pollination conducted in the USA in 2007. The cross was made between the female parent selection designated 'XAT-K4' and the male parent variety 'Polka'. Seedlings were germinated and established in Faversham, United Kingdom. In 2008, the seedlings were transplanted and grown for selection in Cartaya, Spain. In November 2008, 'Autumn Glory' was selected base on yield, fruit size, fruit appearance, fruit firmness, fruit cohesiveness, fruit flavour, number of fruiting laterals, shelf life and ease of harvest.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Autumn Glory' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2014/1287, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt, in Prufstelle Wurzen, Germany, from 2016 to 2017.
