A single seedling of 'DrisRaspNine' was selected in February 2011 based on self-fruitful plants, fruit size, and fruit colour. 'DrisRaspNine' was initially asexually propagated by tissue culture at a nursery in Santa Cruz, California in April 2011. Further propagation and testing continued in Ventura County, California over five years.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'DrisRaspNine' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20170981, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2019 and 2020.
