Summary: The spines of 'MAR 504' are brownish green whereas those of 'Isabel' are brownish purple and those of 'LC 3' are purple.
Description:
PLANT: upright growth habit, medium to many current season's canes, bears fruit on previous season's cane in summer and on current season's cane in autumn, early to mid-season vegetative bud burst
VERY YOUNG SHOOT: weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration of apex during rapid growth, early to mid-season emergence
FRUITING LATERAL: semi-erect attitude, medium length
CURRENT SEASON`S CANE: medium length, weak bloom, strong to very strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration, short internode length, medium length vegetative bud
DORMANT CANE: medium length, brownish purple
SPINES: medium to dense, medium size base, medium length, brownish green
LEAF: medium to dark green upper side, equally three and five leaflets, medium to strong rugosity, relative position of lateral leaflets is touching
LEAFLET: convex in cross-section

Origin & Breeding History: 'MAR 504' originated from a cross between the female parent variety '09-46-2' and the male parent variety '10-28-14' conducted in Soings-en-Sologne, France in 2013. The new variety 'MAR 504' was selected from the resulting progeny in 2014 based on the glossiness and firmness of the fruit.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'MAR 504' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2019/2302, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted at the Bundessortenamt in Wurzen, Germany from 2021 to 2022.
