PLANT: upright growth habit, medium number of current season's canes, bears fruit only on current season's cane in autumn
VERY YOUNG SHOOT: weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration of apex during rapid growth, early emergence
CURRENT SEASON`S CANE: short to medium length, very weak to weak bloom, strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration, short internode length, medium length vegetative bud
DORMANT CANE: short to medium length, purplish brown
SPINES: medium to dense, very small to small base, short to medium length, brownish green
LEAF: medium to dark green upper side, predominantly five leaflets, medium rugosity, relative position of lateral leaflets is touching
LEAFLET: convex in cross-section
TERMINAL LEAFLET: medium to long, medium to broad
FLOWERING: begins early to mid-season on current season's cane
PEDUNCLE: weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
PEDICEL: medium number of spines

Origin & Breeding History: 'MAR 505' originated from a cross between the female parent variety '05-484-2' and the male parent variety '13-01-1' conducted in Soings-en-Sologne, France in 2013. The new variety 'MAR 505' was selected from the resulting progeny in 2014 based on the glossiness and firmness of the fruit.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'MAR 505' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2019/2303, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted at the Bundessortenamt in Wurzen, Germany from 2021 to 2022.
