Summary: The base of the spine for ‘BT RASTHREE' is large whereas it is small to medium sized for ‘Holyoke'.

Description:

PLANT: semi-upright growth habit, many current season's canes, bears fruit on previous season's cane in summer and on current season's cane in autumn, early to mid-season vegetative bud burst

VERY YOUNG SHOOT: mid-season emergence, weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration of apex during rapid growth
CURRENT SEASON`S CANE: long, medium to strong bloom, medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration, short to medium length internode, short to medium length vegetative bud
DORMANT CANE: long to very long, purplish brown
SPINES: medium density, large base, medium length, purple
FRUITING LATERAL ON PREVIOUS SEASON'S CANE: medium length, semi-erect attitude

LEAF: medium green upper side, equally three and five leaflets, medium rugosity, relative position of lateral leaflets is touching
LEAFLET: straight in cross-section
TERMINAL LEAFLET: long, broad

Origin & Breeding History: ‘BT RASTHREE' originated from a cross conducted between two proprietary varieties at Baselga di Pinè 38042, Italy, in 2015. The new variety ‘BT RASTHREE' was selected in 2017 in Baselga di Pinè 38042, Italy, based on flowering time, productivity, and fruit characteristics. Asexual reproduction by root cuttings commenced in 2019.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'BT RASTHREE' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20191767, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted at the Bundessortenamt in Wurzen, Germany from 2021 to 2022.
