CURRENT SEASON`S CANE: medium to long, weak bloom, strong to very strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration, short to medium length internode, short to medium length vegetative bud
DORMANT CANE: medium to long, purplish brown
SPINES: sparse to medium density, medium sized base, medium to long, brownish purple

Origin & Breeding History: Skye' (experimental designation 1259-10) originated from a cross conducted between priopriatary parents 0703FS' and 0994H-12' at the James Hutton Institute, Dundee, United Kingdom in 2012. The new variety Skye' was selected in 2016 in Dundee, United Kingdom, based on cane and fruit characteristics. Asexual reproduction by root cuttings was initiated in the James Hutton Institute in 2016.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Skye' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20192567, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted at the Bundessortenamt in Wurzen, Germany from 2021 to 2022.
