'POULmist' is a miniature rose variety which has an upright to bushy growth habit. The young shoots have absent to very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The stems have no prickles. The leaves are medium green in colour and there are five leaflets per leaf.
'POULmist' flowers almost continuously for more than ten weeks. There are less than four flowers per flowering shoot. The flower bud is ovoid in shape and the sepal extensions are strong. The very double type flowers (84 petals) of 'POULmist' are yellow in colour. There is no petal spot at the base on both the inner and outer sides of the petals. The margin of the petals is very strongly reflexed. The style is light green in colour.
Origin & Breeding History: 'POULmist' originated from a controlled cross between an unnamed seedling and 'POULjol' which took place in the spring of 1996. Seeds were planted in December of 1996 and germinated during the winter and early spring. In the spring of 1997, selection of 'POULmist' took place in the greenhouses of Poulsen Roser A/S in Fredensborg, Denmark.
Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'POULmist' were conducted at Aldershot of Canada Greenhouses located in Burlington, Ontario during the summer of 2003. The trials consisted of 8 10 cm pots (4 plants per pot) for each variety. The plants were cultivated under normal glasshouse conditions for a period of 3 months. All colour characteristics were determined using the 1995 version of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on six measurements.
