Origin & Breeding History: 'Poulra028' was discovered in 1997 as a mutation on a branch of 'Poulmist (Mistral Palace), a rose variety by the same breeeders. Evaluation of this mutation was conducted in the spring of 1997. Selection of 'Poulra028' was based on its compact, vigorous and uniform growth habit; attractive foliage; yellow flowers with red petal margins and suitability to production from softwood cuttings.

Tests & Trials: The test and trial for 'Poulra028' was conducted at Aldershot of Canada Greenhouses located in Burlington, Ontario during the fall of 2003. All plants were cultivated under normal glasshouse conditions for a period of three months. The trial consisted of 15 pots of 10.5 cm pots (four cuttings per pot) of each variety. The pots were spaced 10 to 15 cm from each other. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on six plant measurements.
