Summary: The upper side of the leaf of 'Noa16079' has strong glossiness whereas the leaf 'KORgehaque' has weak glossiness and 'Noa1811108' has medium glossiness. The flower diameter of 'Noa16079' is medium sized whereas that of 'Noa38121' is large. The flower of 'Noa16079' has a strong degree of sepal extensions whereas that of'KORgehaque' and 'Noa38121' has a medium degree of sepal extensions. The flower of 'Noal16079' has many petals whereas that of 'KORgehaque' has few to medium number of petals. The petal of 'Noa16079' is medium sized whereas the petals of 'Noa1811108' and 'Noa38121' are large. The inner side of the petal of 'Noa16079' has two colours whereas the petals of the reference varieties have one colour. The main colour on the inner side of the petal is purple red for 'Noa16079' whereas it is dark pink red for 'KORgehaque'. The main colour on the outer side of the petal is light violet blue for 'Noa16079' whereas it is purple red for 'KORgehaque', blue pink for 'Noa1811108' and 'Noa38121'.

FLOWER: double type, many petals, medium to dense petals, pink colour group, pink centre, irregularly rounded, medium diameter, flattened convex profile of upper part, flat profile of lower part, medium fragrance, strong degree of sepal extensions
PETAL: reflexing of petals one-by-one, rounded shape, absent or very weak incisions, strong reflexing of margin, weak undulation, medium sized, medium length and width
PETAL (INNER SIDE): two colours lighter towards top, when fully opened main colour purple red (RHS 55B) and secondary colour purple red (RHS 57A) distributed at base

Origin & Breeding History: 'Noa16079' originated from a cross conducted in Gütersloh, Germany in May 2007 between two proprietary parents. The variety 'Noa16079' was selected in 2008 based on flower form, flower colour, fragrance and disease resistance. Asexual reproduction was first conducted by terminal semi-softwood cuttings that were grafted onto the rootstock 'Pfanders' in the summer 2008 in Gütersloh, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Noa16079' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2020/065, purchased from the Plant Breeders' Rights Office, Intellectual Property Australia. The trial was conducted in Clyde, Victoria, Australia from November 2020 to May 2021. All colour determinations were made using the 1995 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
