Summary: The plants of ‘VLR13015' have an intermediate growth habit whereas those of ‘Yves Piaget' have a semi-upright growth habit. The young shoot of ‘VLR13015' has a very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration whereas that of ‘Yves Piaget' has a medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration. The flower of ‘VLR13015' has more petals than that of ‘Yves Piaget'. The petals of ‘VLR13015' are smaller than those of ‘Yves Piaget'. The inner side of the petals of ‘VLR13015' are orange red whereas those of ‘Yves Piaget' are red pink.

PETAL (INNER SIDE): one colour excluding basal spot, even intensity of colour, orange red (RHS 44D)

Origin & Breeding History: ‘VLR13015' originated from a hybrid cross made in Vineland, Ontario in 2013 between the female proprietary parent designated ‘20ALFR05' and the male proprietary parent designated ‘27YSPO412'. The results of the cross were planted in the rose hybrid block at Vineland Research and Innovation Centre during the spring of 2014. In 2016, the seedling designated ‘VLR13015' was evaluated and selected based on plant height, plant growth habit, number of petals, cold hardiness and disease resistance. Asexual propagation by cuttings was initiated in the fall of 2016.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘VLR13015' was conducted outdoors during the summer of 2025 at the Vineland Research and Innovations Centre Inc. located in Vineland Station, Ontario. The trial included 6 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. Two year old plants of both varieties were grown in 11 litre containers connected to a drip irrigation system. Observations and measurements were taken from 6 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety in September 2025. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's T-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
