Origin & Breeding History: 'CrazyBlue' originated from an open pollination conducted in Hem, the Netherlands in September 2009. The cross was made between uncoded Perovskia atriplicifolia species plants. The selection of 'CrazyBlue' was made in August 2010 based on its mounding growth habit and its cross over branching. Asexual propagation of 'CrazyBlue' has since been conducted from cuttings.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'CrazyBlue' was conducted in a polyhouse in the summer of 2014 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and planted into 4.4 liter containers on May 12, 2014. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of plants of each variety on July 11, 2014. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
