The pod of '210342' is medium brown whereas it is light brown for the reference varieties. The hilum of '210342'is black whereas it is yellow for the reference varieties. The plants of '210342' mature late to very late whereas the reference varieties are mid to late maturing.

Origin & Breeding History: '210342' originated from a controlled cross conducted by Richard DeWachter, in Otterville, Canada. The cross was made between proprietary sister lines 0301 and 0306 in 2001. Bulk selection was made from the F1 progeny and grown out in 2002. Five plants were selected from the F2 progeny and grown out in 2003. Single plant selection was carried our annually through to 2007. Seed from this final selection was increased from 2008 to 2012 growing seasons. Selections were based on plant phenotype, agronomic performance and yield.
Tests & Trials: Tests and trials were conducted in Otterville, Ontario during 2013 and 2014 growing seasons. Plots consisted of 3 rows with a row length of 61 metres and row spacing of 38 cm with plant spacing of 20 cm. Measurements were taken from 20 plants or parts of plants of each variety per year. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
