Origin & Breeding History: 'P15T46R2' (experimental designation PH14108) is the result of the cross between 'EV1709B3-D0YN' and 'RM1609A7-D0YN' conducted in the winter of 2008 in Isabela, Puerto Rico. The modified single seed descent method and pedigree method were used to develop the variety. The F1 - F2 generations were grown in Isabela, Puerto Rico and Kunia, Hawaii respectively with the F3 grown near Redwood Falls, Minnesota, USA. In 2010, the F4 generation was grown in Rancagua, Chile and was advanced based on yield for single plants and progeny rows. Wide area testing continued from 2011 to 2013 at various locations throughout the USA and Canada. Selection criteria included yield, standability and tolerance to Roundup branded herbicides, Phytophthora rot (Phytophthora sojae) and Soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines).

Tests & Trials: The comparative trials for 'P15T46R2' were conducted in Monkton and Sweaburg, Ontario during the 2015 and 2016 growing seasons, were planted in a RCB design and consisted of 3 replicates for each variety. Plots consisted of 2 rows per replicate that were 4.5 metres in length with a row spacing of 76 cm. For each variety, the seed weights were based on 3 measurements. Mean differences were significant at the 5% probability level based on a Paired student's T-test.
