Origin & Breeding History: P24A07E' originated from a cross between two proprietary inbreds, conducted in 2018 at Johnston, Iowa. Between 2019 and 2021, six generations were advanced across three locations: Johnston, Iowa; Princeton, Illinois; and Salinas, Puerto Rico. Selection criteria included yield, maturity, resistance to diseases and pests, and seed protein and oil content. P24A07E' was selected at the F6 generation, and breeder seed production began in 2022.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trials for P24A07E' were conducted in Kent County, Ontario, during the 2023 and 2024 growing seasons. Trials were planted in a RCB design and consisted of 3 replicates for each variety. Plots consisted of 4 rows, 5 metres in length and a row spacing of 76 cm. The trial consisted of 1740 plants per variety. Plant height was measured using 20 observations per variety per year. Mean differences were significant at the 5% probability level based on a Student's t-test.
