Origin & Breeding History: 'NCSX2' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder in the spring of 2009 in Mills River, North Carolina, USA. The cross was made between the female parent, the Spiraea variety 'Zelda', and the male parent, a proprietary Spiraea japonica variety designated 'H2007-101-003'. The new variety was selected as a single unique seedling from the resultant progeny in the spring of 2010 based on the length of its flower period, flower colour and foliage colour. Asexual reproduction of 'NCSX2' was first conducted by softwood cuttings in 2012, in Mills River, North Carolina, USA.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'NCSX2' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2019/0404, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted at the Research Centre for Cultivar Testing in Srem, Poland from 2020 to 2021.
