Origin & Breeding History: ‘Keepsake' originated from a cross between proprietary parents ‘B1031' and ‘B1181' conducted in Beltsville, Maryland, USA in 2006. The new variety ‘Keepsake' was selected in the spring of 2007 based on vigour, fruit flavour and postharvest quality. Asexual reproduction by stolons was initiated in Beltsville in 2007.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘Keepsake' was conducted by Production Lareault Inc., in Lavaltrie, Quebec during the 2024 growing season. 10 plants of each variety were rooted in the summer of 2023 in equally spaces rows and allowed to propagate by stolons. By 2024 there were approximately 500 plants of each variety. Measurements were taken from 15 plants or parts of plants of each variety during the 2024 growing season.
