Variety used for comparison: 'Favori'

Summary: The margin of the terminal leaflet of ‘Bravura' is crenate whereas the margin of ‘Favori' is serrate.

Description:

PLANT: day neutral type, semi-upright growth habit, medium to dense foliage, medium vigour
STOLONS: very few to few, medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration, medium density of pubescence

LEAF: medium to large, light green upper side, medium degree of blistering, strong glossiness, no variegation
TERMINAL LEAFLET: moderately longer than wide, obtuse base, crenate margin, concave in cross-section
STIPULE: weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration
PETIOLE: medium length, horizontal attitude of hairs

FLOWERING: begins early
INFLORESCENCE: positioned at same level as foliage, few flowers
PEDICEL: slightly outwards attitude of hairs
FLOWER: medium diameter, calyx larger than corolla, overlapping petal arrangement, stamen present
PETAL: length equal to width, white inner side

CALYX: position of attachment is level with fruit surface, slightly larger than fruit diameter, outwards attitude of sepals, medium adherence to fruit
FRUIT: ripening begins early, moderately longer than wide, large, conical shape, slight difference in shape between terminal fruit and other fruit, firm, medium sized cavity
FRUIT SURFACE: medium red, slightly uneven colour distribution, strong glossiness, slightly uneven, narrow band without achenes, achenes positioned below surface
FRUIT FLESH: light red, light red core

Origin & Breeding History: ‘Bravura' originated from a cross between two proprietary breeding selections conducted in Ens, the Netherlands in April of 2008. The new variety ‘Bravura' was selected in August of 2009 based on disease resistance, time of maturity, fruit size, fruit firmness, fruit flavour and fruit colour.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Bravura' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20152404, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt Prüfstelle, Wurzen, Germany from 2017 to 2018.
