The cross was made between the female parent 'SN Big Pinki' and pollen from an unknown male parent. In June 2010, seedlings were selected and evaluated in greenhouse trials from February to June 2011 and in 2012 in Stuttgart, Germany. This variety was selected based on flower size, good branching and production characteristics. In August 2012, a single seedling was selected for commercialization and named 'KLESG13255' in Stuttgart, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'KLESG13255' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2015 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 13, 2015. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on May 20, 2015. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
