Origin & Breeding History: 'ARCCIT9' (experimental designation FA A34) originated from a planned breeding program carried out at the Agricultural Research Council, Addo Research Station, Eastern Cape, South Africa. 'ARCCIT9' originated from the irradiation of buds of 'NADORCOTT' conducted in 1999. In 2005, 'ARCCIT9' was selected based on the amount of viable pollen and seed content.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'ARCCIT9' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, reference number ZA 20135430, purchased from the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development in Stellenbosch, W. Cape, South Africa. The trials were grown at the Addo Research Station, Eastern Cape, South Africa and tested in 2012 and 2013.
