SEEDLING: anthocyanin colouration of hypocotyl present
PLANT: medium height, indeterminate growth habit, medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration on upper third of stem, medium length of internode (between first and fourth inflorescence), early flowering, autonecrosis absent.
LEAF BLADE: long, broad, dark green on upper side, weak to medium glossiness and blistering of upper side
LEAFLET: large
IMMATURE FRUIT: medium extent of dark green shoulder
MATURE FRUIT: medium to large, circular shape in longitudinal section, only two locules, medium conspicuousness of meridian stripes, yellowish skin at maturity,
PEDUNCLE: abscission layer present, short
REACTION TO DISEASE: resistant to Verticillium sp. (Race 0), Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Lycopersici (Races 0 and 1), Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici, Tomato mosaic virus (Strains 0, 1, and 2), and Pyrenochaeta lycopersici; moderately resistant to Meloidogyne incognita; susceptible to: Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Lycopersici (Race 2), and Fulvia fulva (Race 0, Groups A, B, C, D, and E)
Origin & Breeding History: 'Kaiser' (experimental designation '61-077 RZ') resulted from a cross between two proprietary inbred lines made in March 2007 in De Lier, Netherlands. 'Kaiser' was selected for its vigourous and generative effect when grafted.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Kaiser' is based on the Naktuinbouw, Netherlands Technical Examination, file number TMR27. The trials were conducted by the Naktuinbouw in 2012 and 2013 at the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands.
