Variety Description

Variety used for comparison: 'Primioso'

Summary: The upper side of the leaf of 'Dreamvine' is dark green whereas it is medium green for 'Primioso'. In relation to the main axis of the leaf, the petiole of the leaflet of 'Dreamvine' has an erect to semi-erect attitude whereas the attitude of the petiole of the leaflet of 'Primioso' is semi-erect to horizontal. At maturity, the fruit of 'Dreamvine' are red and small to medium sized while the fruit of 'Primioso' are darker red and small. The plants of 'Dreamvine' mature mid to late season whereas the plants of 'Primioso' mature early to mid-season.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Dreamvine' (breeder designation NUN 09220 TOF) originated from a controlled cross conducted in 2015 in the Netherlands. The parents were developed via pedigree selection from 2012 to 2014 with 2 selection cycles per year in the Netherlands. The female line was selected from cocktail variety 'Brioso' via pedigree selection for flavor and cluster (vine) appearance. The male parent came from a medium size cluster hybrid and was selected for cluster (vine) traits. The combination of a smaller cocktail type with a relatively small cluster type led to the hybrid 'Dreamvine', combining flavor and cluster appearance. From the resulting progeny, 'Dreamvine' was selected for its yield, high brix and acidity level.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Dreamvine' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number TMT3314, purchased from Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trials were conducted by Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands from 2018 to 2019.
