Summary: The leaflet and fruit of 'Breonice' are large while those of 'Seronda' are medium to large. The intensity of green colouration of the leaf of 'Breonice' is medium while it is dark for that of 'Seronda'. The peduncle scar of the fruit of 'Breonice' is medium to large while that of 'Seronda' is medium sized.

Description:

SEEDLING: anthocyanin colouration of hypocotyl present

PLANT: indeterminate growth type, tall, flowers mid to late season, late fruit maturity

STEM: very weak to weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration, long to very long internode

LEAF: horizontal to semi-drooping attitude, long, broad, bipinnate blade type
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): medium green, weak to medium glossiness, medium degree of blistering
LEAFLET: large, semi-erect attitude of petiole in relation to main axis of leaf

INFLORESCENCE: mainly uniparous type
PEDUNCLE: no abscission layer
FLOWER: yellow, pubescence of style present

IMMATURE FRUIT: no green shoulder, light to medium green skin, no green stripes

Origin & Breeding History: 'Breonice' (breeder's reference DRTH1025) originated from a hand-pollinated cross conducted between two proprietary Seminis lines, 'FIR-XM19-4520' and 'FIR-XM19-4521', at the Seminis breeding station located in Bergschenhoek, Netherlands in 2017. The resulting hybrid, 'Breonice', was selected in 2018 for its yield, quality and colour.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Breonice' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number TMT3799, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2022.
