Variety Description

Variety used for comparison: 'Varela'

Summary: The plants of ‘Novero' are medium to tall while those of ‘Varela' are tall. The leaf attitude of ‘Novero' is horizontal to semi-dropping while that of ‘Varela' is semi-drooping to drooping. In relation to the main axis of the leaf, the attitude of the leaflet petiole of ‘Novero' is semi-erect to horizontal while that of ‘Varela' is horizontal.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Novero' (breeder's reference DRTH2912) originated from a hand pollinated cross conducted between Seminis proprietary breeding lines FIR-A819-0704 and FDR-A820-0617 in 2020 at a Seminis breeding station in Woodland, California. ‘Novero' was selected in 2022 for its quality, yield and disease resistance.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of ‘Novero' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number TMT4196, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2024.
