Summary: The leaf of ‘Bellamaria' is long, broad and medium green while that of ‘Viverino' is medium to long, medium to broad and medium to dark green.

Description:

SEEDLING: anthocyanin colouration of hypocotyl present

PLANT: indeterminate growth type, tall, flowers early, very early fruit maturity
STEM: weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration, medium length internode

LEAF: horizontal to semi-drooping attitude, long, broad, bipinnate blade type
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): medium green, weak to medium degree of glossiness, weak to medium degree of blistering
LEAFLET: medium sized, horizontal attitude of petiole in relation to main axis of leaf

INFLORESCENCE: mainly multiparous type
PEDUNCLE: abscission layer present, medium to long
FLOWER: yellow, pubescence of style present

IMMATURE FRUIT: medium to large extent of dark green shoulder, light to medium green skin (excluding shoulder), no green stripes

Origin & Breeding History: 'Bellamaria' (breeder's reference 72-MP0029 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in the spring of 2021 in De Lier, Netherlands. ‘Bellamaria' was selected in the spring of 2022 for its fruit weight, shape and colour; maturity time, shelf life, disease resistance and being suited to harvest as a single pick hybrid.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of ‘Bellamaria' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number TMT4094, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2023 and 2024.
