Summary: The plant growth habit of 'KLEVP20076' is upright to semi-upright while that of 'VOLVER 8301' is semi-upright. The inner side of the corolla of 'KLEVP20076' is dark red while that of 'VOLVER 8301' is red. The corolla eye of 'KLEVP20076' is present while that of 'VOLVER 8301' is absent.

Description:

PLANT: upright to semi-upright growth habit, narrow just after the start of flowering

STEM: no anthocyanin colouration on middle third of actively growing stem

LEAF BLADE: short, very narrow to narrow, ovate shape, no divisions, dentate incisions of margin, medium green to dark green upper side, no anthocyanin colouration on upper side
PETIOLE: very short

INFLORESCENCE: small to medium diameter, broad obovate in profile
FLOWER BUD: medium purple red (RHS N57B) just before opening
FLOWER: single type, free arrangement of corolla lobes
CALYX: anthocyanin colouration distributed at teeth only
COROLLA: small to medium diameter, one colour present, even colour pattern, red colour group, inner side dark red (RHS 45B), no secondary colour, weakly fading colour with age
COROLLA LOBE: recurved along longitudinal axis, very weak undulation of margin
COROLLA EYE: small diameter, red
COROLLA TUBE: medium length, tip of protruding hairs is white

Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEVP20076' originated from a cross conducted between the female parent designated 16.6029 and a male parent designated 15.5134.5130 in Cobbity, New South Wales, Australia in November 2016. In October 2017, the resultant seedlings were selected based on their plant growth habit, flowering time, length of flowering period and disease reaction to powdery mildew. The selected seedlings were evaluated in greenhouse trials from 2018 to 2020 and a single seedling was selected for commercialization and named 'KLEVP20076' in May 2020.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEVP20076' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2021/1173, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2022. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
