Variety used for comparison: 'VEAZ0013'
Summary: The leaf blade of 'VEAZ0065' is very short to short while that of 'VEAZ0013' is short. The corolla lobe margin of 'VEAZ0065' has strong undulation while that of 'VEAZ0013' has medium to strong undulation. The inner side of the corolla of 'VEAZ0065' is light yellow green while that of 'VEAZ0013' is white.
Description:
PLANT: semi-upright growth habit, narrow width just after the start of flowering
STEM: no anthocyanin colouration on middle third of actively growing stem
LEAF BLADE: very short to short, very narrow to narrow, ovate shape, no divisions, dentate incisions of margin, medium green upper side, no anthocyanin colouration on upper side
PETIOLE: very short
INFLORESCENCE: medium diameter, broad obovate in profile
FLOWER BUD: light yellow green (RHS 1C) just before opening
FLOWER: single type, overlapping arrangement of corolla lobes
CALYX: no anthocyanin colouration
COROLLA: small to medium diameter, one colour present, yellow colour group, inner side light yellow green (RHS 1C), shaded colour pattern with distribution lighter towards apex, weakly fading colour with age
COROLLA LOBE: incurved along longitudinal axis, strong undulation of margin
COROLLA EYE: absent
COROLLA TUBE: medium length, tip of protruding hairs is light green yellow
Origin & Breeding History: 'VEAZ0065' originated from a self-pollination of a seedling designated 'T0717-4V' that occurred in Enkhuizen, Netherlands in September 2015. The resulting seed was sown in February 2016. In May 2016, 'VEAZ0065' was selected as a single unique seedling based on its plant growth habit, flower colour and flower type.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'VEAZ0065' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2021/1601, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2022. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
