Origin & Breeding History: 'Slingpink' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder Gijsbertus Verhoef in Hazerswoude, Netherlands in August 2012. The cross was made between 'Slingco 1' as the female parent variety and an unnamed proprietary seedling as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, 'Slingpink' was selected as a single plant in July 2014 based on its compact plant growth habit, foliage characteristics, flower colour, remontant flowering and winter hardiness. 'Slingpink' was first asexually propagated by softwood cuttings in August 2014 in Hazerswoude, Netherlands.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Slingpink' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20163061, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by Groupe d'Étude et de Contrôle des Variétés et des Semences in Brion, France between April 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
