'Preble' was selected based on biomass yields, resistance to disease and pests, and agronomic traits for mechanical planting, harvesting, and post-harvest processing.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Preble' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2013/0734, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Scharnhorst, Germany, between 2014 and 2015.
