Summary: The plants of 'CBRZ0008' have a semi-upright growth habit while those of 'BALCABDEBU' have an upright growth habit. The leaf and calyx lobe of 'CBRZ0008' are of medium length while those of 'BALCABDEBU' are short. The inner side of the corolla of 'CBRZ0008' has a strong conspicuousness of veins while the corolla of 'BALCABDEBU' has a weak conspicuousness of veins. The apex of the corolla lobe of 'CBRZ0008' is truncate while it is emarginate for 'BALCABDEBU'.

COROLLA LOBE (INNER SIDE): mainly violet (RHS N81A) to dark violet (RHS 83A) when newly opened, blue violet (RHS N87A) when fully opened, violet to blue violet (RHS N82A to N87A) when aged, truncate apex, absent or very weak colour change during growing season
COROLLA TUBE (INNER SIDE): main colour yellow orange (RHS 11A), small star-shaped area of black (RHS N187A) extending onto lower corolla lobes, no marking at transition, medium conspicuousness of veins
Origin & Breeding History: 'CBRZ0008' originated from a controlled cross conducted between the female parent variety 'MiniFamous Blue' and an unknown male parent proprietary seedling in August 2010. The new variety was developed by Syngenta Seeds Inc. in Gilroy, California, USA. 'CBRZ0008' was selected as a single seedling from the resultant progeny in June 2011 in Gilroy, California, USA based on plant growth habit and flower colour. The new variety 'CBRZ0008' was first propagated by cuttings in June 2011, in Gilroy, California, USA.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'CBRZ0008' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2015/2562, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2017. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
