Description:

PLANT: semi-upright growth habit, short to medium height
SHOOT: short to medium length

LEAF BLADE: short to medium length, medium width, narrow acute apex, no variegation, upper side light green

PEDICEL: long
CALYX LOBE: medium length, medium width
FLOWER: single type, broad
COROLLA: weak degree of lobing, weak conspicuousness of veins
COROLLA LOBE (INNER SIDE): mainly purple red (RHS 58C) when newly opened, purple red (RHS 58C-B) when fully opened, light blue pink (RHS 73C to 62B) when aged, truncate apex, absent or very weak colour change during growing season
COROLLA TUBE (INNER SIDE): mainly yellow orange (RHS 20A), medium sized star-shaped area of red (RHS 45A) extending onto lower corolla lobes, medium sized yellow marking at transition, weak conspicuousness of veins

Origin & Breeding History: 'KLECA15294' originated from an open pollinated cross conducted by the breeder, Anita Stoever, in Stuttgart, Germany. The cross was made between the female parent variety 'CA-2011-0404' and an unknown male parent, conducted in the summer of 2010. Resultant seedlings were selected in May 2011 based on their plant growth habit, plant vigour, flower colour and flower bi-colour pattern. The selected seedlings were evaluated in greenhouse trials from February to May in 2013 and 2014, in Stuttgart, Germany. A single seedling was selected for commercialization and named 'KLECA15294' in July 2014.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLECA15294' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2016/1701, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2017. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
