CALYX LOBE: medium length, narrow
FLOWER: single type, broad, medium degree of lobing
COROLLA LOBE: absent or very weak conspicuousness of veins, truncate apex
COROLLA LOBE (INNER SIDE): when newly opened medium blue violet (RHS N82D-C), when fully opened mainly medium blue violet (lighter than RHS N82D), when aged light blue violet (more red than RHS 85C), large area of dark violet (RHS 86A) at transition to corolla tube, absent or very small marking at transition to corolla tube, absent or very weak colour change during growing season
COROLLA TUBE (INNER SIDE): medium yellow orange (RHS 19A), weak conspicuousness of veins
Origin & Breeding History: 'CBRZ0020' originated from a controlled cross conducted by the breeder, Mitchell E. Hanes, in Gilroy, California, USA, in March 2015. The cross was made between the female parent, a proprietary seedling designated 'CAL4132-18', and the male parent, a proprietary seedling designated 'CASBO165-1'. The resultant seed was sown in August 2015 and 'CBRZ0020' was selected in October 2015 based on flower colour and colour pattern, flower size and flowering time.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'CBRZ0020' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 2018/1116, purchased from Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2019. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
